November 8, 1986: "Amanda" by Boston becomes their only Number 1 hit in America.
“Amanda,” Boston’s only chart-topping single, came out late in 1986, but it was so perfectly ’70s that the song didn’t even have a music video.

April 22, 1967: "I Think We're Alone Now" by Tommy James & the Shondells peaked at Number 4 US music chart.

I Think We’re Alone Now was presented to me as a slow ballad by my producers, Richie Cordell and Bo Gentry. I was 19, but I heard the hook and thought it sounded like a hit.

November 23, 1981: AC/DC release the album For Those About to Rock We Salute You.

As immensely successful as AC/DC’s 1980 album Back in Black was (it has sold around 50 million copies worldwide), the band didn’t have a No. 1 record until their seventh North American release, For Those About to Rock We Salute You came out on Nov. 23, 1981.
