November 28, 2000: David Bowie was crowned the musician's musician. Bowie beat The Beatles and alternative rockers Radiohead in a survey by the NME that asked hundreds of top rock and pop stars to name their biggest musical influence.

November 28, 1957: Bobby Helms released "Jingle Bell Rock."
Considered the first mainstream rock 'n' roll Christmas song, many artists have covered this song. Helms' version has been used in several TV shows, including The Wonder Years, Chuck, House M.D., It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy and Once Upon A Time. It's also featured in the movies Lethal Weapon (1987), Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, Jingle All The Way (1996), and Vanilla Sky (2001).

November 28, 1974: John Lennon makes his last concert appearance when he joins Elton John on stage at Madison Square Garden. 


November 28, 1987: Taken from the film Dirty Dancing, the Jennifer Warnes' duet with Bill Medley "(I've Had) The Time Of My Life," went to No.1 on the US singles chart.

Early on, a Lionel Richie song was slated for the big dance scene in Dirty Dancing, but the film's choreographer, Kenny Ortega, bumped it in favor of "(I've Had) The Time Of My Life." Says Previte, "It was the last song on the last tape submitted on the last day for the movie's final scene. But, everyone loved it!"

November 28, 2009: One Republic entered Billboard's Hot 100 with "Good Life."
"Good Life" by OneRepublic had a long shelf life. It peaked at Number 8 on the Hot 100 nearly two years after its initial release, thanks to its use in various media. "Good Life" was featured in the trailers for the films Eat Pray Love and One Day, and had TV placements in the series Cougar Town, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Rookie Blue and 90210.
