November 2, 2011: A cover of "Our Day Will Come" by Amy Winehouse was released as the compilation album Lioness: Hidden Treasures' second and final single.

November 2, 1944: Keith Emerson was born in Todmorden, West Yorkshire, England. 
Keyboardist first for the progressive rock band The Nice and then as Emerson Lake and Palmer, Keith Emerson had the 1977 UK Number 2 single "Fanfare For The Common Man."

He died on March 11, 2016 in Santa Monica, California, of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He had become "depressed, nervous and anxious" because nerve damage in his hands had hampered his playing.

November 2, 1961: k.d. lang is born Kathryn Dawn Lang in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
k.d.lang's first country hit in 1987 was a duet with Roy Orbison. Switching to a more traditional pop vocal style, Lang had her biggest pop hit in 1992 with "Constant Craving."

Roy Orbison rerecorded his hit "Crying" as a duet with k.d. lang as part of the soundtrack for the motion picture Hiding Out and released it as a single in 1987. Their collaboration won the Grammy Award for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals.

November 2, 1978: The Police released the debut album Outlandos d'Amour. 
Elevated by the success of its lead single, "Roxanne," Outlandos d'Amour by The Police peaked at Number 6 on the UK Albums Chart and at Number 23 on the Billboard 200.

November 2, 2015: Adele went to Number 1 on the US singles chart with "Hello," the lead track from her third album 25.
