October 26, 2001: The science fiction film Donnie Darko, starring Jake Gyllenhaal , premieres in US theaters. The movie features Gary Jules' haunting cover of Tears For Fears' 1982 song "Mad World."

October 26, 1968: The Ohio Express made a big move on Billboard's Hot 100, from Number 72 to 48, with "Chewy, Chewy."

"Chewy, Chewy" is among Ohio Express' three signature songs, as well as one of bubblegum music's most notable staples. It makes countless references to candy and sugar, comparing these to the recipient, calling her a "living box of candy wrapped up so very fine" with a "mouthful of such sweet things to say."

October 26, 1974: The first song topping the new Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart was a cover of "Never Can Say Goodbye" by Gloria Gaynor.

October 26, 1985: Whitney Houston scored her first Number 1 on the Hot 100 when "Saving All My Love For You" reaches the top spot.

"Saving All My Love for You" was originally recorded by Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr. for their album Marilyn & Billy.

 Whitney Houston's version became her first song to top the US Billboard Hot 100, staying there for two weeks. At the 28th Annual Grammy Awards, it won for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

October 26, 2015: Justin Bieber cleaned up at the MTV's EMAs - (European Music Awards), winning best male, best North American act, best collaboration for "Where Are You Now?," with Skrillex and Diplo, biggest fans and best look.
