October 28, 1978: The movie KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park was televised by NBC.

The tale of rock band KISS and their efforts to thwart a diabolical plan by mad scientist Abner Devereaux. Devereaux has found a way to clone humans into robots in his laboratory at an amusement park.

It just so happens that he plans to uses the KISS concert as a platform to unleash his plan on the world. KISS must use their special powers to stop him.

October 28, 1977: Neil Young released Decade, a compilation triple album that went platinum in 1986.

Decade is not a regular “best of” put together, but a mix of previous unreleased songs like “Down to the Wire” and “Campaigner” and songs from earlier albums including Buffalo Springfield songs.  Also, alternate versions of some songs in addition to a live performance of “The Needle and the Damage Done.”

There are four completely new songs and these are, besides the already mentioned, “Love is a Rose” with clear resemblance to "Dance Dance Dance" and “Deep Forbidden Lake”, both originally recorded for the unreleased Homegrown album.

October 28, 1978: "Hot Child In The City" by Nick Gilder went to Number 1 in America. 

It takes some real balls to claim that your creepily-horny song is really a concerned-about-social-issues song. That’s the story that Nick Gilder attempted to tell when his panting power-popper “Hot Child In The City” randomly ascended to #1 for a single week.

Talking to Rolling Stone at the time, Gilder seriously attempted to pass off a song that is literally titled “Hot Child In The City” as a lament about the plague of child prostitution in Los Angeles.

October 28, 2003: David Bowie and his wife, the supermodel Iman, signed up as the new spokes-models for Tommy Hilfiger. 

Many online news sources are currently featuring the story of David and Iman's latest exciting collaboration. They are to appear together for the very first time in the launch advertising campaign for the H Hilfiger range from Tommy Hilfiger's 2004 spring collection.

The campaign, which was shot by famous photographer Ellen Von Unwerth while David and Iman were in Amsterdam recently, will appear in selected American Men's and Women's magazines in April 2004. H Hilfiger is Tommy Hilfiger's 'gold standard' brand.

October 28, 2004: Rod Stewart's Stardust: The Great American Songbook, Vol. 3 was Number 1 on the Billboard 200. 

Stardust... the Great American Songbook, Volume III is the third studio album of pop standards by British musician Rod Stewart. The album was Rod Stewart's first #1 on the Billboard 200 since Blondes Have More Fun in 1979. It later became the winner of the 2004 Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, giving Stewart his first and, to date, only Grammy victory in his career.
