December 27, 2008: Taylor Swift started a seven-week run at No.1 on the US album charts with Fearless. It was the best-selling LP of 2009.

December 27, 1969: Led Zeppelin's Led Zeppelin II hit Number 1 on the American albums chart. One single, "Whole Lotta Love," was released and peaked in the Top 10 singles in over a dozen markets worldwide.

December 27, 1975: Queen started a two-week run at Number 1 on the UK chart with A Night At The Opera.

The group's first chart-topping album, all Queen's band members contributed songs to the LP A Night At The Opera. Brian May's hard-driving "Prophet Song" opened Side 2. Freddie Mercury wrote the album's stand-out hit single "Bohemian Rhapsody." The B-side was Roger Taylor's "I'm in Love with My Car."

December 27, 1980: The Outlaws entered Billboard's Hot 100 at Number 83 with a cover of "(Ghost) Riders in the Sky." It spent 15 weeks on the chart, peaking at number 31.


December 27, 2003: Kelis topped out at Number 3 on Billboard's Hot 100 with "Milkshake."
A "Milkshake" in the Kelis' hit song is a girl's sensual energy - what makes her stand out from the other girls. Taken more literally, it is about a girl who dances seductively and attracts the attention of boys in the club.
