April 14, 1967: The Bee Gees released their first English single, "New York Mining Disaster 1941."
"New York Mining Disaster 1941" is about a group of miners trapped beneath the surface. The story is told from the perspective of one of them, who shows others a photo of his wife in his final hours. There was no mining disaster in New York in 1941, although there was one in McIntire, Pennsylvania, which killed six people. The song, though, was vaguely inspired by the Aberfan tragedy in South Wales.

April 14, 1973: Alice Cooper entered the US singles chart with "No More Mr. Nice Guy."
Alice Cooper wrote "No More Mr. Nice Guy" about the reaction of friends and family toward his over-the-top stage persona. The maniac he plays on stage goes over well with his audiences, but the folks in his mother's church groups were unsure how to handle it and were uncomfortable talking about it. This song was the shock rocker's declaration that the "gloves are off," and he's no longer going to apologize for his wild-man stage antics.

She came up with the title when she saw it in the magazine TV Guide. Time After Time is the name of a 1979 science fiction movie starring Malcolm McDowell as H.G. Wells, whose time machine is stolen by Jack The Ripper, who uses it to travel from 1893 to 1979. Wells follows him into the future and tries to stop him from killing.
