October 19, 1958: Brenda Lee recorded "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree."

October 19, 1968: The super-group Cream entered the US Top 40, moving from Number 50 to 22, with "White Room."
“White Room” by Cream is a very experimental song. The lyrics are a bit out there and the introductory time signature is non-standard.
