June 11, 2005: "Mr. Brightside" by The Killers topped out at Number 10 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.

Waking from his sleep, Brandon Flowers had a feeling that his girlfriend was seeing someone else, headed to a local Las Vegas pub the Crown and Anchor, and saw it for himself.

June 11, 1966: The Rolling Stones took over the top spot on the US music chart with "Paint It Black." 

Inspired by more experimentation around arrangements and a desire to write all of their songs, Aftermath was a groundbreaking album for The Rolling Stones.

It was a new undertaking for the Stones with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards writing the entire album. While “Paint It Black” colored in some of the band’s new musical pictures, it still remains a bit of a lyrical mystery.

June 11, 1977: "Burnin' Sky" by Bad Company peaked at Number  78 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

June 11, 1983: Def Leppard  started their run up the Billboard chart at Number 75 with "Rock Of Ages."  

"Rock of Ages" by Def Leppard begins with "Gunter glieben glauten globen", a German-like nonsense phrase introduced by Mutt Lange, who is of German descent. As the song's melody begins, Elliott speaks the lines, "All right/I've got something to say/It's better to burn out/Than to fade away"; the second two lines are a reference to Neil Young's song "Hey Hey, My My (Out of the Blue)."

June 11, 1988: Sade was guaranteed an American Top 40 hit when "Paradise" moved from Number 48 to 40. 

"Paradise" is Sade's most successful track on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, peaking at number one for one week. The single also reached number 16 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 21 on the US Dance Club Songs chart.
